Is the side shelf safe near young children?

It is made from a single piece of 18 mm rubberwood with sanded edges and no sharp corners, finished in a clear, non-toxic varnish that is free of BPA and lead. Because it fixes to the table, it stays put during use, so there is little for a child to knock loose.

What age is the side shelf suitable for?

It works for children from around one to five, in step with the KAYA tables it fits. Younger children reach their pens without leaning across the desktop, while older ones use it to keep craft projects sorted. There are no small loose parts once it is fitted.
